I am not an overtly religious person. This is not to say I do not have a great deal of faith. I’ve just always believed that my faith is something private, something personal. So, for the most part, you won’t see me quoting bible verses or making more than a passing reference to the many signs I see that God exists in this world.
But I have to say, without getting too hokey or preachy on my few invisible readers, I love getting a good message now and then. I checked out a new book today, hopefully one of the last I’ll check out before finishing my thesis in three weeks.
Sorry. I’m back. Minor freakout. So, I open the book and the first page is the dedication. Under the usual thanks:
Strength and honor are her clothing;
and she shall rejoice in time to come.
A nice thing to read when I have so much to do that I haven’t done my laundry in weeks, and have no clean clothes of the physical kind. A nicer thing to read when “time to come” after thesis seems so very, very far away. And alarmingly near.
Thanks for the reassurance, Big Guy.
P.S. Are you there readers? It’s me, Ashley.
